Como Ter Sucesso na Carreira de Informática Biomédica
How to Suceed in a Biomedical Informatics Career

A Informática Biomédica é um campo extremamente amplo de estudo e de carreira profissional, pois possui interfaces amplas, tanto com as ciências biológicas e biomédicas, quanto com as ciências exatas. Desse modo, o futuro profissional de sucesso precisa ter uma personalidade altamente interdisciplinar, e gostar das duas áreas, embora não precise se aprofundar muito em nenhuma. Desse modo, está destinado a ser lider de equipe, precisa diferenciar-se nesse sentido, do empreendedorismo, liderança e dominio do conhecimento. Existem muitas áreas de profissionalização em informática biomédica e bioinformática que o estudante pode escolher para se dedicar, e quanto mais cedo durante o curso escolher, melhor será. O planejamento da carreira deve começar cedo e ser uma preocupação constante, pois carreira significa caminho, e pode ser mudada de orientação no futuro, nos pontos de inflexão, Nesta palestra, dedicada os jovens que pensam seguir a carreira de informática biomédica, daremos muitas dicas, por um veterano com 40 anos de experiência profissional na área.

In English:

Biomedical Informatics is an extremely broad field of study and career, because it has extensive interfaces with both the biological and biomedical sciences, as well as with many other sciences. Thus, the future successful professional needs to have a highly interdisciplinary character, and have a liking for both two areas, although there is no need for a deeper knowledge in any. In this way, the professional in Biomedical Informatics is destined to be a team leader, and needs to differentiate itself along this aim, i.e., to develop his/her entrepreneurship, leadership and domain knowledge. There are many areas of professional training in biomedical informatics and bioinformatics that the student can choose to indulge in, and the sooner in the course he/her chooses to follow, the better. Career planning should begin early and be a constant concern, because it allows career paths and directions to be changed in the future, the so-called inflection points, In this lecture, which is dedicated to young people who are thinking in following a career in biomedical informatics, many tips will be given by a veteran with 40 years of professional experience.
